Born to Nigerian and Jamaican parents, Jay’s early exposure to music was through his parents’ record player, which filled their home with a diverse range of sounds, including Hip-Hop, R&B, Garage, Reggae and Afrobeats.
Inspired by these eclectic influences, he began his musical journey at the age of ten when he stumbled upon his older brother’s keyboard. It was on this keyboard that Jay taught himself to play the piano and started crafting his own melodies and chords.
His passion for music production was ignited during his teenage years when a family friend introduced him to production software. Jay dedicated countless hours after school and work to refine his skills as a music producer.
One of Jay’s recent productions, “Thanks,” featuring J. Cole played a pivotal role Burna Boy achieving his first UK number 1 album, marking a historic milestone for an African artist.
Beyond music, Jay is passionate about making a lasting impact both creatively and socially. He is the co-founder of Outreach Homes and Outreach Community, initiatives dedicated to providing housing solutions and supporting vulnerable groups through mentorship and outreach programmes.
